Chocoku-no-mori Art Museum

Outdoor gallery was founded in 1969 , displaying about 500 sculptures from modern and contemporary times. Looking at some of the world's most famous sculptures surrounded by nature, you get a feeling that they are having a conversation with surrounding  environments. Especially the Picasso gallery, which displays about 170 pieces of his work, is the most popular tourist attraction at Chocoku-no-mori art gallery.

Gora Park

Gora park, located at hillside of mountain Soun, is french*styled garden. It has beautiful flower garden and small trails around the fountain.

Oowakutani

From Mt.Soun, take rope way for about 10 min. and you will see the steam from sulfur spring coming through the dark brown rocks.  Oowakutani is the mouth of active volcano of Mt. Hankone.  Here, you could taste the volcano baked egg, very attraction of this place. In clear days, you can enjoy the view of magnificent Mt. Fuji.

 

Ashinoko

Lake Ashinoko was created by volcanic action of hakone. It is also known as the center of the Hakone tour.
On the ferry from Togendai to Motohakone, enjoy the fantastic view of Mt. Hakonerenzan and Mt. Fuji.

 

Hakone Shrine

Hakone shrine, located northwest of lake Ashinoho's deep forest, was founded in 757 and was painted with beautiful scarlet color.
There used to be three shrines in Mt.Hakone originally, but it was combined as one shrine by Priest Mangan for the first time.  This place flourished as sacred place for the moutain worship
.
The treasure exhibition contains many cultural properties and many other historical treasures.

 

Rows of Cedar Trees

Location : On the way from Motohakone station to Hakonemachi road, there are many hundreds of Japanese cedars which are about 350 years old. They served to foot passengers as the season of thick foliage during summer, and as a snowbreak  during winter in old days. The scenery remains the same till today, and it attracts many tourists every year.
